How to package your card for Grading Submission
Materials needed:
-
Clear card sleeves
-
Semi-rigid holders
-
Painter’s tape or easy-peel tape (not scotch or packing tape directly on holders)
-
Sticky notes or pull tabs (optional, helps graders remove card easily)
-
Bubble wrap and padding
-
Shipping box (sturdy cardboard)
-
Team bags (optional, keeps moisture/dust out)
Step 1) Sleeve the Card
-
Gently place the card into a clean penny sleeve.
-
Insert the sleeved card carefully into the semi-rigid holder
Step 2) Add a Pulltab (optional)
-
Place a small sticky note or a folded piece of painter’s tape sticking out of the sleeve or holder.
-
This makes it easier for PSA/Beckett to remove the card safely.
Step 3) Secure the Holder
-
If sending multiple cards, put each in its own sleeve and semi-rigid holder
-
Sandwich the holder between two pieces of sturdy cardboard, each bigger than the holder
-
Place 2 elastic bands horizontally and 1 elastic band vertically to hold the cardboard pieces and the holder together securely
Step 4) Cushion the Cards
-
Wrap the bundle in bubble wrap to protect against movement
-
Make sure cards are snug but not bent
Step 5) Box it up
-
Place bubble-wrapped cards into a sturdy shipping box (avoid envelopes unless PSA allows it for small subs).
- Add extra packing paper or bubble wrap so nothing shifts.
- Include your submission paperwork inside the package, on top of the cards (This document is obtained by registering the Submission on the preferred Grading Company Website)
Step 6) Final Seal & Label
-
Seal the box with strong packing tape
-
Clearly label it with the PSA or Beckett submission address
